Nobody should be in prison for an 'offensive' social media post - certainly not Lucy Connolly, who was in attendance today at our historic parliamentary debate, following our successful public petition.
The first time it's ever been done by an MP.
It happened to Lucy, who spent months in prison for one foolish social media post, soon deleted. Torn away from her family. It could happen to you. So speak up now. Challenge it. Say no. Don't accept it.
We must be clear - no free society can survive with a people afraid to speak.
I will keep making that argument in Parliament, even if almost no other MPs could be bothered to show up.
