Hillary Clinton reveals she is 'grateful' to King Charles ahead of major broadcast

Hillary Clinton has publicly praised King Charles for taking part in a major cancer awareness broadcast, ahead of a UK television programme set to air later tonight as part of the Stand Up To Cancer campaign.

In a post shared on Instagram, the former US Secretary of State highlighted the importance of early detection and screening, writing: “Regular screenings and early detection can make a profound difference in a cancer diagnosis.”

She added that King Charles will share that message during a UK broadcast for Stand Up To Cancer, which raises awareness and funds research across both the UK and the United States.

“I’m thrilled to share that the broadcast will include a groundbreaking new program, Cancer Clinic: Live,” Mrs Clinton wrote, confirming that the programme was produced by her company HiddenLight Productions in partnership with Bango Studios and presented by Davina McCall.

According to Mrs Clinton, the programme will offer an unprecedented look at cancer care on British television.

“For the first time on UK television, viewers will see clinical consultations with cancer specialists unfold in real time as patients and their families navigate their treatment,” she said.

She added that the programme was designed to confront fear around cancer screening and diagnosis, which often leads people to delay medical checks.

“The program is a way to illustrate the life-saving impact of early diagnosis and tackle the fear that can lead so many of us to put off a screening,” Mrs Clinton wrote. “My hope is that it will literally help save lives.”

Mrs Clinton also thanked the King directly for his involvement in the initiative, saying: “I’m grateful to King Charles for being a part of it.”

Her comments come as cancer charities continue to stress the importance of early detection in improving survival rates, with screening programmes playing a central role in identifying disease at earlier, more treatable stages.

Stand Up To Cancer, which is jointly run by Channel 4 and Cancer Research UK, has become one of the UK’s most high-profile fundraising and awareness campaigns, bringing together broadcasters, charities and public figures to promote cancer research and encourage people to engage with screening and early diagnosis.

Mrs Clinton concluded her post with a message of optimism alongside a call to action.

LATEST ROYAL DEVELOPMENTS

“I believe one day we’ll see a world without cancer—but until that day comes, we’ll do all we can to combat it,” she said, urging people to check their eligibility for screenings by contacting their healthcare provider.

The broadcast, which will air later tonight, is expected to feature contributions from a number of public figures and clinicians as part of the wider Stand Up To Cancer campaign.

King Charles’s involvement has been publicly reported, though the content of his message has not been released ahead of the programme.

The King has previously spoken about the importance of cancer research and medical innovation.

His participation in the campaign underscores the continued focus on encouraging early diagnosis and improving outcomes for patients.

Tonight’s programme will mark the latest high-profile effort to bring conversations about cancer screening and treatment into the public domain, with organisers hoping that increased visibility will help save lives by prompting earlier medical intervention.
