'I'm living rent-free in his head!' Sadiq Khan claims Donald Trump is OBSESSED with him

Sir Sadiq Khan has issued a fresh attack on Donald Trump, labelling the US President's recent criticisms of him "absurd".

The Mayor of London told the Big Issue that Britain's capital was the “antithesis” of what Mr Trump believes.

He claimed the US President is "obsessed" with him, adding: "It’s like I’m living rent-free inside this guy’s head for 10 years now."

“President Trump, objectively speaking, is a nativist. He’s a protectionist and a unilateralist. He believes in mono-ethnicism. He believes in the superiority of his religion, Christianity, and of Americans," Sir Sadiq said.

“Look at London. A city that is progressive, liberal, diverse, multicultural and the greatest city in the world. So we are the antithesis of all he believes in.

“So I can understand why he wants to spread disinformation about this dystopian version of London because Londoners have chosen this guy who’s a Muslim of Pakistani origin.”

Sir Sadiq also raged at ideas "on the periphery and the margins" being brought into mainstream conversation as a result of Mr Trump.

The pair have frequently exchanged barbs over the past decade, with bad blood starting to emerge as early as 2015 when Sir Sadiq spoke of his desire to see the President lose his first bid for the White House.

During his first State Visit to Britain in 2018, the London Mayor gave the green light for demonstrations across the city against the President, which featured a giant blimp depicting Mr Trump as a baby.

And during September's historic second State Visit, Mr Trump made no secret of how he was still annoyed at the Labour Mayor, telling GB News on Air Force One that he "asked that he not be there" at the state banquet at Windsor Castle.

Last year, the President took the feud to the United Nations, accusing Sir Sadiq of being a "terrible mayor" and warning Sharia Law was coming to London - in remarks Sir Sadiq rejected as "appalling and bigoted".

Mr Trump repeated that warning last year - telling Britain's News Channel he was a "disaster" and a "nasty person".

Last month, Sir Sadiq accused the President of spreading "lies and propaganda" about London and its safety.

The London Mayor urged British diplomats around the world help counter the spread of "disinformation and lies" about the capital - which he claimed was originating from across the Atlantic.

He added social media platforms were being used to "amplify hate".

Sir Sadiq also raised concerns that people who see the misinformation from the President through a "YouTube film or a post on TikTok" would discourage potential tourists from visiting, businessmen investing, or potential students from studying in London.

The White House, responding to the London Mayor's remarks, said "left-wing policies ... have made once-great cities like London unrecognisable".

Sir Sadiq's swipe at the President came on the same night as mobs of feral youths rampaged through the streets of Clapham as part of an online trend known as a "link-up".

The incident saw participants looting shops, setting fires and assaulting police officers, leading to the arrest of six teenage girls.

Peter Bleksley, a former Scotland Yard detective, told GB News the spread of the social media trend was an “all-too-predictable contagion”.

“This is what happens when policing is not robust enough, and when there simply aren’t sufficient and strong enough deterrents.

“Shoplifting, knife crime, phone thefts and this current wave of lawlessness can all be traced back to the day the police stopped patrolling the streets, and became a society breakdown service, only answering 999 calls, and otherwise not being present in the streets,” he despaired.
